Important Update: Utility Payment Policy Effective May 1, 2026

Dear Residents of the Town of Blackville,

The Town of Blackville is committed to maintaining reliable and efficient utility services for our community. In an effort to strengthen our financial stability and ensure the continued operation and maintenance of essential services, we are implementing an important update to our utility payment policy.

Effective May 1, 2026, the Town will no longer accept partial payments for utility services, including water, sewer, public utility (PU) fees, and garbage collection. All utility bills must be paid in full by the printed due date.

Please be advised that payment arrangements were given in the past; however, this was a practice that should not have been offered. The Town does not offer and will not offer payment arrangement options. Bills must be paid in full by the printed due date, or your services will be at risk of interruption.

This change is necessary to help the Town meet its operational obligations, maintain infrastructure, and continue providing the level of service our residents expect and deserve. Consistent and complete payments allow us to better manage costs, address system needs, and plan for future improvements within the community.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take steps to sustain and strengthen our Town for the future.

If you have any questions, please contact Town Hall.

Town of Blackville
03-26-2026

AREA AFFECTED BY THIS REPEAL: HIGHWAY 3

Residents in the previously affected area are no longer required to boil water before drinking or cooking.

Water samples have been analyzed by a certified laboratory, and the results confirm that the water is safe for consumption and normal use.

If you have any questions regarding the lifting of this notice, please contact Town Hall at 803-284-2444.

he South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a statewide Red Flag Fire Alert, effective immediately and until further notice.

This alert strongly encourages all residents to postpone any outdoor burning until the alert is lifted. Due to a combination of dangerous weather conditions and extremely dry fuels, fires can easily escape control and spread rapidly.

This alert will remain in effect until it is officially lifted by the South Carolina Forestry Commission. The Fire Chief has been notified and will advise residents when they can be issued a burn permit. If anyone is caught burning during this restricted time they will be issued a citation by the Blackville Police Department.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
